Spectrumyser™ - FAQ PDF Print

Q: How transparent is the Licensing?
A: To prevent frustration, the licensing model of the Spectrumyser™ is based on a similar and transparent model as Quest3D™. No "daylight robbery" publishing royalties and no hidden extra costs. The purchase price is the only fee you will have to pay, nothing more!!

Q: What restrictions apply to registered users?
A: The use of the Spectrumyser™ channelset can be separated into 2 levels of utilisation, Design-time and Run-time.

Design-time:
3 types of licenses will be made available:
  1. Personal license
The personal license is a user license allowing you to install the Spectrumyser™ on more than one computer as long as you are the only user.
  2. Site License
A site license covers multiple employees at one site. So, if you have two or more offices in a 93-miles (150 Km) radius area, you can consider them as one site.
  3. World-wide License
For larger enterprises with multiple locations, the world-wide license might be the best deal. It has no limitation on the number of users or where they are located. It covers all company personnel, including consultants working on company projects. It does not cover subsidiary companies that operate under a different name, or customers of the company.

Run-time:
There are no run-time restrictions. Any number of projects created with a legitimate version of the Spectrumyser™ can be published and distributed freely as executable, installer, web page or screen saver to any number of users regardless of the type of license acquired.

Q: I used to be able to buy your products directly from eLeMenCy but now I get redirected to Aticka.com - is this normal?
A: yes it is, Aticka (which is my own commercial entity) acts as a reseller for all my products and others such as Quest3D, Genetica and DMX hardware as well as providing consultancy and visualisation services. This allows me to keep development and commercial aspects of my channelsets completely independent from each other.

Q: Will I get a hard copy of the software?

A: No, the Spectrumyser™ is only available as a download. All documentation which also comes with the download are provided as .pdf files but are also available to registered users on this website as html.

Q: Are you planning to release and support the Spectrumyser™ for Quest3D™ V3.0x?
A: No, although the beta version of the Spectrumyser™ development and testing started on Quest3D™ v3.0x, I do not have plans to support this platform. The Spectrumyser™ will only be compatible with Quest3D™ V3.5.x and above.

Q: Can I reinstall my trial channel after it has expired?
A: Unfortunately, it is not possible to restart the trial version once it expires at the end of the trial period. When the trial period runs out, installing the trial channel again onto the same computer will not reset the trial period. You can, however, install the trial channel onto another machine that has not previously had the trial channel installed on it.

Q: On some PC's the Spectrumyser do not seem to react to any sounds - what give?
A: Due to the lack of a “Stereo Mix” option in the driver/chipset of some PCs with on-board sound cards, it is likely that the Spectrumyser™ will be unable to “listen” to sounds played internally (i.e. Media Player, Messenger, Skype etc...). See the forum for more info on how to solve the problem.
